Overview
In partnership with Pulse SUP Paddleboards, I developed limited-edition microfiber beach towels featuring my original Pulse SUP illustrations.
The goal was to extend Pulse’s bold paddleboard graphics into lifestyle soft goods — creating products that reinforced brand identity beyond the water.
The Opportunity
Pulse SUP had established a strong, illustration-driven identity through paddleboard surface design.
There was an opportunity to:
- Expand that visual language into lifestyle accessories
- Create cohesive brand extensions
- Offer retail-ready add-ons that complemented paddleboard purchases
- The towels needed to feel unmistakably Pulse SUP— bold, energetic, and water-ready.
My Role
Surface Designer
Responsible for:
- Illustration development
- Product functionality
- Pattern adaptation for textile printing
- Colour calibration for microfiber reproduction
- Production-ready file preparation
- Visual alignment with existing designs
Illustration Approach
August
August embraces fluid motion and warmth, designed to echo long summer days on the water. The composition was scaled and adjusted to maintain impact across a 35.5” x 72” vertical textile format, ensuring clarity from distance while preserving detail up close.

Sharkcation
Sharkcation was designed to feel playful and adventurous — channeling the excitement of ocean exploration. The artwork balances bold graphic elements with controlled negative space, allowing the design to breathe when translated onto soft goods.
Impact
The limited-edition towels expanded Pulse SUP’s brand presence beyond paddleboards, strengthening retail offerings and reinforcing a cohesive visual identity across product categories. The collaboration demonstrated how illustration systems can translate fluidly between rigid performance products and soft goods.
Reflection
Surface design does not live on a single material. By extending Pulse SUP’s illustration language into textiles, this project demonstrates the flexibility of brand-driven artwork across product categories.
